Thoughts on the Project
The job was to find the right visual language and color scheme to convey the special atmosphere of the story and then to create graphics for the entire book. The workflow involved close interaction with the art director and the book author, allowing for regular and precise feedback and effective refinement process.
Two months were given to create all the graphics as the project had already changed illustrators several times and the deadlines were pushed back a lot. In addition, the art director changed twice during my involvement.
Despite the challenging conditions, the deadline was met. I managed to create a unique style in tune with the mood of the book and crafted more than 60 illustrations, including cover art, endpapers, full-page and spot illustrations and illustrated drop caps for each of the 26 chapters.
